The Rancho Mission Viejo Rodeo is coming to town this month. One of the oldest events, the roots of Saddle Bronc Riding reach back to the Old West when Ranch Hands would show off their style riding unbroken horses. In the modern event, the rider attempts to win style points while staying on a bucking horse for a maximum of eight seconds. Judges consider the horse’s bucking action, the cowboy’s spurring action and his control of the horse.
Their story began when the Ranch Family made the commitment to sponsor and host an annual Rodeo. The mission: to help preserve this wild tradition, pay tribute to the sport and the heritage of the land, and to raise funds for deserving charities. Today, this Annual Two Day Rodeo has lassoed over $2.1 million for the benefit of local San Juan Capistrano charities.
The funds that we raise honor the old cowboy tradition of passing the hat in support of a family in need. Over the years, all proceeds from the Rancho Mission Viejo Rodeo have been donated to organizations such as CHOC at Mission Hospital and J.F. Shea Therapeutic Riding Center. It’s a tradition we’re proud to continue for years to come.
The Bubble Rollers will be there to provide the kiddie rides so remember to stop by our booth!
